
Mayor Miguel Ángel Quiroga, from Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León, received an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of the North of Tamaulipas. The presentation took place in Havana, Cuba, as part of an international distinction that changes location with each edition.
The university rector, José Francisco Chavira Martínez, explained that this time doctorates were awarded in different fields such as Medicine, Education, business, social, and political spheres. Quiroga's administrative work was recognized for the programs implemented for the benefit of the community during his term since 2021.
Quiroga, a member of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico, expressed his gratitude and commitment to continue serving with honesty, effort, and heart. The mayor was re-elected for a second term in June 2024.
The University of the North of Tamaulipas highlighted Quiroga's performance in the early months of his second term. The mayor expressed pride in receiving the recognition, stating: 'This recognition motivates me even more to continue working for the people. For our city, for our country.'
